Spark creativity, learning and a lifelong love of music! 

I offer private weekly lessons for beginner to intermediate students of all ages at my home studio in Pittsfield, Maine.

Tuition is $75 a month, and includes weekly 30 minute private lessons. Multiple students in one family will receive a discount. The schedule runs from September through June, with flexible lessons in July and August. 

Young children can start taking lessons at age 4. I use games, off-the-bench activities, and things like pom-poms, a floor piano, and mega bloks to keep kids focused and actively learning while they are playing and having fun!

Older kids build self-confidence as they watch their skills grow one song at a time. I use Piano Pronto books with my students to keep them excited and engaged with the music they are learning. They get to "taste test" many different styles of music while playing familiar melodies. The materials are all age and gender neutral, written in a recital-ready contemporary style. I encourage my students to experiment on the piano with their own arrangements and compositions, and help them to expand their ideas into new horizons of learning. I am always looking for ways to help my students discover and learn music that they love and keep their interest growing as their skills develop.

Teens are able to learn quickly and find sounds that resonate with them. Once they have some basics down, I introduce chords and teach students how to play the music they love from chord charts and lead sheets. This is an important skill for playing music in a band, or to accompany yourself as you sing.

Adults enjoy taking lessons as beginners, or to refresh the skills they learned long ago. They discover that spending time at the piano is relaxing, brings a sense of accomplishment, and it really is never too late to learn!

Lesson times are available during the day on Wednesdays and Thursdays and after school on weekdays until 5:15 pm.
